The WORD

Tres did an outstanding job spreading the WORD of God on Wednesday night. Even though he was the State Bible Teaching winner all 4 times he competed this was totally a different experience for him. This was teaching his peers on their level. It wasn't a cute bible story turned into a sermon, it was truly a message from the Lord.

He taught on Love, Accept, and Forgive. This seems to be a theme: like father like son. Also our pastor has used this title in some of his messages. All of them have had a different take.

Love - At the Last Supper...Jesus washed the feet of His disciples. He looked each one of them in the face and told them that He loved them. The very one that betrayed Him, the very one that denied him...He told them that He loved them. We get mad, end friendships, leave the church, etc. because someone hurts or feelings or says something bad about us. What kind of love are we showing? Do we show the love of Jesus to others?
Accept - Before we become a born again Christian...we must first accept Jesus into our hearts as our Lord and Savior. Before we can have a friendship or a relationship with someone...we must first accept them. Jesus accepts everyone! Who do you accept?
Forgive - Jesus is in the forgiving business. He gave His life so that we might have life eternally. He forgave us of our sins. Are you willing to forgive? We must forgive those that hurt us! We must forgive those that persecute us!
He closed with everyone forming a circle around the entire Youth Sanctuary. As we prayed one for another the power of God moved on many hearts!
I am so very proud of Tres! All praise and glory be to God!
Thanks to all of you Tres supporters! We love and appreciate each of you. Pop, Mam, Uncle Mike, Aunt Barbara (new aunt!), Grandmother, Paw-Paw-, Aunt Sallie, Kennedy, Chase (#1 Bro.), Chuck (Dad), and Misty, (Mom)

Wedding Bells...Barbara & Mike

Wow! My brother and Barbara got married on Friday! Their story is like something you read about in a book. They actually dated in High School...went their separate ways...married other people...had children...got divorced...and 27 years later found each other and married on Friday, September 26. Our family is thrilled! Just call them the Handley Bunch. Together they have 5 children...3 boys and 2 girls. I pray this is their happily every after!

Tres...Spreading the WORD

Please pray for Tres. He will be bringing the Word of God on Wednesday night October 1, 2008 at ChristWay for FOCUS Student Ministries. I am so proud of him. At the same time I am nervous for him. He is an anointed young man so I am sure he will do fine. Again, please pray for him!

TNT...Big Bang!

Well I should have listened to all those seasoned women in my life. When you let your child know how much you like the person they are dating...of course they breakup. All you mothers out there...listen up...it is true. I just experienced this. Tres and Tiffany are officially broken up.

Pres...2

Well what a let down. The President cancelled and sent the Vice-President. It was still an exciting event. I'm thankful I had the opportunity to attend. Gov. Riley was there also. It was a good turn-out. Good things were said.

TNT

Tres and Tiffany are dating. I am so glad! I just adore her. From puppy love to true love. Who would have guessed it? Only time will tell if they are meant to be.

They both have a devoted relationship with the Lord. I know they are seeking the Lord for His direction for their lives. I do pray God's blessings upon each of them. He has a plan for them and if that plan includes each other then so be it. If not thank the Lord for this time. I pray that the Lord will reveal His plan to them!

Chase - 1st College Golf Tournament

Chase had his first College Golf Tournament recently in Montgomery. This was a fabulous experience. Chase placed overall individually 12th in the tournament. He shot a practice round of 73, 1st day of tournament he shot a 78, and the 2nd day of the tournament he shot a 72. I was so proud of him! The team tied for 6th. Not too bad! Go Bulldogs!

Another great thing about this tournament was the fact that it was in Montgomery. I got to spend time with my close friend Ginger. We have been friends since we were 6 years old. Thanks Gin! I really enjoyed spending time with you and your family. It was great being able to share the experience of the first college tournament with you! I had a great time! You were a real trooper rain and all!

The next tournament is coming up in a couple of weeks. Atlanta...Here comes the Bulldogs!
